About OTN: Information for Physicians

Dear Doctor:

OTN is a telemedicine network that delivers clinical care and distance education among health care providers and patients using live, two-way videoconferencing systems and related diagnostic equipment. 

OTN makes it possible for patients to have greater access to care and to receive that care closer to home, thereby reducing travel time and expenses. 

Available in every hospital and hundreds of other health care locations across the province, nearly 3,000 health care professionals use OTN to deliver care to their patients.  This year, OTN will facilitate the delivery of more than 90,000 patient visits using telemedicine.

Funded by the Government of Ontario, doctors can refer patients to specialists and other health care providers through OTN and there is no cost to the physician or to the patient.

When you refer your patient or organize a follow-up appointment, please consider Telemedicine as an option. It may make your patient's life a little bit easier.
